If you’re looking for a smartwatch that doesn’t need to be charged every day and also offers great features, then the Amazfit Active Max could be the one for you. I used it as my primary watch for a full month – for workouts, sleep tracking, calls, music, everything. And honestly, the battery life blew my mind. Let me tell you what’s good and what’s a little weak.

Amazfit Active Max Review- First Impressions

When I opened the box, I immediately got a premium vibe. The watch in black looks like a tank. It has an aluminum alloy top frame – matte finish, doesn’t attract fingerprints. It doesn’t have a vegan leather-like back, but the build quality feels absolutely solid.

The weight is only 39.5 grams – it feels light despite having such a large battery. The thickness is 12.2 mm, but it doesn’t feel bulky on the wrist.

The straps are made of silicone, with a breathable design, and are very comfortable. It’s a standard 22 mm size, so you can easily change them (like I put on the red strap from the Balance 2). It has 5 ATM water resistance – no worries about swimming, rain, or showers.

Display: Everything is Clearly Visible Even in Daylight

It has a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a 480×480 resolution – even small text looks incredibly sharp. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep – the true joy of AMOLED.

The claimed peak brightness is 3000 nits, and it’s true, it’s perfectly clear even in bright sunlight.

The Always-On Display is its biggest plus point. It’s one of the brightest AODs in the segment – showing time, heart rate, battery, steps, everything, and it drains very little battery. I haven’t charged it for 13 days, and it still has over 30% battery left (with AOD on + GPS workout used).

Battery Life: It Just Won’t Die

It has a 658 mAh battery, and Amazfit claims it will last up to 25 days. In real life:

  • Always On + normal use + 2–3 GPS workouts → 13–15 days easily
  • With AOD off → 18–20 days comfortably

I compared it to the Apple Watch, where I had to charge it every day. With this one, I don’t have to worry even after 15 days.

The charging puck is magnetic and auto-aligns – it feels great.

Features That Are Actually Useful

  • Offline Maps + Built-in GPS → shows a live map during workouts, tracks location. Perfect for trails or running outdoors.
  • Bluetooth Calling → the speaker is loud and clear. Works well both indoors and outdoors. The mic cancels background noise effectively.
  • 4 GB Storage → you can save music directly to the watch. You can listen through the watch speaker or connect Bluetooth earphones.
  • 170+ Sports Modes → running, cycling, swimming (pool + open water), strength training, dance, combat – everything is included.
  • One-Tap Health Check → get heart rate, stress, SpO2, and breathing rate all at once in 45 seconds.
  • Zepp App → clean, simple, and shows data in detail. Tracks sleep, exertion, biocharge, etc.

Small Things I Noticed

  • No rotating crown → navigation feels a bit slow (you have to swipe).
  • The bezels are a bit noticeable when you use a colorful watch face.
  • It has a single speaker → okay for listening to music on the watch, but better with earphones.
  • Leather or bright colored straps were not included in the box (you have to buy them separately).
