How to apply for PAN card online?

Indian citizen or non-Indian citizen, any person can apply for an online PAN card from the Income Tax Department.

For this, you have to visit the official website of NSDL or Utiitsl and fill Form 49A or Form 49AA.

Apply for PAN card via NSDL

  • Go to the official website of NSDL and click “Application Type”.
  • Select “Form 49A (for Indian citizens)” or “Form 49AA (for non-Indian citizens)”.
  • Select your details from the “category” drop-down menu.
  • Fill your personal information, including your name, date of birth, email address and mobile number.
  • Tick on the “Guidelines” and enter the “captcha code”.
  • Click “submit the application”.
  • Pay the application fee.
  • After submitting the application, you will receive an acknowledgment number page.
  • Look at a passport-shaped picture on the acknowledgment paper, sign it with a black pen and mail it to the Income Tax Department with your assistant documents within 15 days of the online application.

Apply for PAN card via Utiitsl

Apply Loan

  • Go to the official website of Utiitsl and click “PAN Card”.
  • Click “Apply PAN Card”.
  • Choose “PAN card as an Indian citizen” or “as a foreign national” option.
  • Choose “Apply for a new PAN card (Form 49A)” or “Download the online PAN application (Form 49A)” or “Download the blank pan form 49A”.
  • Choose “Apply for a new PAN card” and select the favorite mode of your application.
  • Fill all the necessary information.
  • submit application.
  • Pay the application fee.
  • After payment, you will receive a soft copy of an acknowledgment letter.
  • Print the acknowledgment paper, paste your passport -shaped photo on it, and sign it with a black pen.
  • Within 15 days of submitting the online application, send the acknowledgment receipt along with copies of your identity and residence evidences to the Income Tax Department.

Offline Method:

If your PAN card is lost, damaged, or you have forgotten your PAN number, you can apply for offline PAN card. For this, you have to follow the following steps:

  • Go to the official website of NSDL and click “Apply online”.
  • Click “Apply for PAN Card”.
  • Choose “PAN card as an Indian citizen” or “as a foreign national” option.
  • Choose “Apply for a new PAN card (Form 49A)” or “Request reprint for PAN card”.
  • “Click Next.
  • Fill your personal information, including your name, date of birth, email address and mobile number.
  • Tick on the “Guidelines” and enter the “captcha code”.
  • Click “submit the application”.
  • Pay the application fee.
  • After submitting the application, you will receive an acknowledgment number page.

Look at a passport-shaped picture on the acknowledgment paper, sign it with a black pen and mail it to the Income Tax Department with your assistant documents within 15 days of the online application.
