OnePlus has set the ₹15,000 budget tablet market on fire by launching its Oneplus Pad Lite! This tablet is so good that even BGMI runs like butter, and it gives tough competition to Redmi Pad 2. I used it for a few days, and here’s the full review – from unboxing to gaming, along with a short comparison with Redmi Pad 2. If you are looking for a budget tablet that is perfect for studying, movies, or gaming, then this review is for you.
OnePlus Pad Lite Unboxing – Simple but Fine
When I opened the box, first came the tablet, then some paperwork, a red Type-A to Type-C cable (signature OnePlus), and a 15W charger. The tablet supports 33W charging, which I’ll discuss later. No screen protector or case is included – normal for a ₹15,000 tablet.
Design & Build – Premium Feel, Solid Look
The tablet has a metal body with a premium look. A small plastic section near the top camera strip is present, but the rest is metal. At 7.39mm thin and 537g weight, it’s slightly heavy but expected for a large tablet. Fingerprints don’t smudge easily.
It features four speakers (two on top, two at the bottom) with loud, clear sound and good bass – perfect for movies and music. There’s a Type-C port, mic, rear camera, power button, and volume keys. No SIM tray or microSD slot – this is the Wi-Fi-only 128GB variant. No flashlight. It has face unlock but no fingerprint sensor.
Display – Good, But a Little Lacking
It has an 11-inch LCD with Full HD+ (1080p) resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits brightness. Colours are decent, viewing angles are solid, but YouTube runs only at 60Hz – no forced 90Hz. The 16:10 aspect ratio results in slight black bars when watching movies.
Compared to Redmi Pad 2’s 2.5K display, sharpness is lower, with visible pixels on close inspection. However, Widevine L1 support ensures Full HD streaming on Netflix and Prime Video. YouTube supports up to 2K@60fps.
Performance – Smooth & Powerful
Powered by MediaTek Helio G90 with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, performance is very smooth. In AnTuTu, it scores around 4.4 lakh. It’s faster and smoother than Redmi Pad 2’s 4GB RAM variant.
BGMI test results:
- Launch time: 42 seconds
- Smooth settings: 60fps (avg. 56.9fps)
- HDR settings: 40fps (avg. 39fps)
- 15 minutes gaming: 3% battery drop, max temp 38°C
- No gyroscope in base variant – a limitation for gyro gamers.
Multitasking – Three Apps at Once
With 6GB RAM, multitasking is smooth. Two apps can run in split-screen and one in a floating window. The Open Canvas feature switches split-screen apps to full screen. Drag-and-drop works between apps.
Stylus & Notes – Major Shortcoming
There is no stylus support. Neither OnePlus’s own nor third-party styluses work properly (no palm rejection). For note-taking, Redmi Pad 2 or iPad 9th Gen is better.
Camera – Just Works
The 5MP rear camera and 5MP front camera are fine for scanning documents or video calls. Rear supports 1080p@30fps video.
Battery & Charging – Large but Slow Charger
It has a 9340mAh battery, lasting up to 2 days with moderate use, or 8–10 hours screen-on time for heavy use. Supports 33W charging, but comes with a 15W charger in the box.
UI & Features – Clean and Smooth
Runs on Android 15 with OxygenOS 15 – no ads, no bloatware. AI tools like photo eraser are included. Clipboard and screen sharing with phone/PC are supported.
Connectivity – Basic but Good
Comes with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4, but no IR blaster or gyroscope in the base variant.
