If you are looking for the best gaming phone in the budget of 30k then there is a good news for you. Xiaomi is going to launch Redmi Note 15 Pro+ soon, and looking at its specs, it seems that this phone can create a stir in its price segment. So let’s do a full breakdown of its features and see if it is worth the wait!

Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G

Design: Premium and Durable

The look of the phone is absolutely premium – with quad-curved OLED display and sleek design. The back has a matte finish and metal frame, which feels solid in the hand. Its biggest feature is IP69 rating – it is not afraid of high-pressure water and dust, and it has also received the industry’s first five-star waterproof certification! Weight is around ~200g, which is comfortable for daily use. Black, Blue, and Green colors are available – the green one looks really fresh.

Camera: What’s special?

The camera setup is quite solid in this. The 50MP main camera with OIS gives clear photos both during the day and night. The 50MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom makes portraits professional – edge detection and bokeh effect are definitely on point. The 8MP ultra-wide lens is okay, but struggles a bit in low-light. The 32MP front camera is sharp enough for selfies, with natural skin tones. Video recording supports up to 4K@30fps, which is good at this price. Specially telephoto shots and portrait mode are the highlights of this phone.

Performance: Gaming and Daily Use

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip is quite powerful in this. Games like BGMI run smoothly at 60fps, and there is no problem for casual gaming. AnTuTu score is around ~8,00,000, which is quite good at this price. With HyperOS 2.0 (Android 15), the UI is extremely fast and clean. Multitasking, opening apps, everything is a breeze. There is also vapor chamber cooling which controls heating during long gaming sessions. There is UFS 3.1 storage but if there is UFS 4.0 it would be future-proof.

Battery: More than a day long

The 7000mAh battery is the biggest plus point of this phone – such a big battery is rare in this price range! It can easily last for 1.5-2 days in normal use and gives 7-8 hours of screen-on time even in heavy use (gaming, streaming). 90W fast charging gives full charge in ~40 minutes and there is also 22.5W reverse charging – you can charge your earbuds or another phone. This phone is the segment leader in terms of battery life.

Display: Smooth and Bright

The 6.67-inch 1.5K Quad-Curved OLED display is absolutely stunning – with a 120Hz refresh rate, scrolling and animations are buttery smooth. Colours are vibrant, and with ~2000 nits peak brightness, they are clear even in the sun. There is HDR10+ support, which makes watching content on Netflix and YouTube even more amazing. There is also Dragon Crystal Glass protection, which protects against scratches and drops.

Extras: What else do you get?

  • IP69 rating: Protection from water, dust, and high-pressure jets – super durable!
  • Dual speakers: Sound quality is good, but bass is a bit low.
  • Connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 8, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C 2.0 port.
  • Software: HyperOS 2.0 is smooth, and 4 years of OS updates will be available.
  • IR Blaster: Useful feature for controlling TV or AC.

Where is the shortcoming?

  • Ultra-wide camera: A bit weak in low-light, less details.
  • USB-C 2.0: Data transfer is slow, USB-C 3.0 would have been better.
  • No microSD slot: Storage cannot be expanded.
  • Charger will have to be bought separately: Not available in the box.

Price and Verdict

Its price in India is expected to be around ₹25,000-₹30,000. Getting a 7000mAh battery, IP69 rating, and solid camera setup at this price is great value for money. If you want an all-rounder phone that excels in design, battery, and camera, then the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is a solid option. But if the focus is on ultra-wide camera or video recording, then you can also look at options like the Realme P4 Pro.
