Redmi Note 15 Pro & Pro+

The Redmi Note series is always a hit in India, and now the Redmi Note 15 Pro and Pro+ are here. I’ve tested both, and wow, some things are absolutely next-level. Design, display, battery, everything has seen major upgrades. Some features are only found in expensive phones. Let’s look at what’s great, what’s lacking, and what’s changed. If you’re looking for a solid phone in the mid-range, this post is for you.

Unboxing: What’s inside the Box?

Open the box and you get the phone along with a case, charger, Type-C cable, and a pre-applied screen protector. The Pro+ has a 100W charger, the Pro has a 45W. No complaints. Everything is in the box, which is rare these days.

Design: The Pro+’s Vegan Leather is Awesome

The Pro+ has a mocha coffee color vegan leather back. No fingerprints, great grip, and a premium feel. With a thickness of 8.7mm and a weight of 209g, and a curved back and front frame, it doesn’t feel bulky. The blue and black variants with fiberglass backs are slightly thinner and lighter, but I liked the leather one best.

The Pro also has a similar look, fiberglass or leather options, a flat screen, and a slightly slimmer feel. Both have Redmi Titan structure, SGS 5-star durability, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front, and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K rating. Dunk it in water, hit it with a jet spray, nothing will happen. The optical fingerprint scanner is a bit low, but reliable. It even works on a wet screen.

Display: Bright and Smooth

Both have a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 3200 nits peak brightness (on 25 percent of the area). The Pro+ has a quad-curved screen, the Pro has a flat one. Super bright outdoors. HDR and Dolby Vision work great on Netflix. Colors are accurate, and highlight and shadow control is good.

Stereo speakers are loud, with Dolby Atmos support, and the 400 percent volume boost is great for videos, though there’s some distortion in music.

Camera: 200MP Primary Camera

Both have a 200MP main camera (Samsung HP sensor, f/1.7, OIS). This is a new global debut. Processing is excellent. The viewfinder shot looks average, but the final photo is super consistent, with natural colors, no oversaturation, and solid HDR. No blooming in low light, and details are good.

The 2x and 4x sensor crop zoom is excellent. 2x is almost like optical zoom.

The ultra-wide is 8MP. Colors match, but details are average. The Pro+ has a 32MP selfie camera, the Pro has 20MP. Both offer natural skin tones and perform well in low light.

AI features include dynamic shots, ultra HD 200MP mode, and AI zoom that expands the frame for group shots in selfies. Video is stable at 4K 30fps from the main camera with OIS, but the selfie camera is limited to 1080p. Overall, the camera is a definite highlight at this price.

Performance: For Smooth Daily Use

The Pro+ has the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Smooth apps, no lag in multitasking. AnTuTu score of 1 million plus. Casual gaming like BGMI 59 to 60fps and COD 90fps is excellent. Heavy games like Genshin require lowering the graphics settings.

The Pro has the Dimensity 7400 Ultra with similar smooth performance. Base variants have 256GB storage, but it’s UFS 2.2, which is a bit slow. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, eSIM only in Pro+, and Xiaomi’s offline communication feature. Calls up to 1.9km via Bluetooth without internet.

Software: HyperOS 2 is Excellent

HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 out of the box, with 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches. It’s optimized, offers extensive customization, dynamic wallpapers, and AI tools like writing, subtitles, Gemini search, and Circle to Search. There are some pre-installed apps and ads, but they can be removed.

Battery: Monster Backup

Pro+ has a 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W charging. 55 minutes full charge and 9 hours plus screen time with Netflix, YouTube, Instagram, and 5G.
Pro has 6580mAh with 45W charging and similar backup. There is also reverse wired charging. Battery life is extremely strong.
