The official launch date of Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has come – 21 August 2025! Yes, this phone is becoming very popular in China. Now even in the middle of work I have to pick up the phone when an important update comes – can’t miss it even on vibrate! Let’s come straight to the topic – what’s new in this phone and why is there so much confusion? Let’s break it down.
Launch Date: When and where?
So, it is confirmed – Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is launching in China on 21 August 2025. The time is 7 PM Beijing time (ie 4:30 PM IST). This news is confirmed on Redmi’s Weibo page, and official teasers have also been dropped. Now when will the global launch happen, we will know after some time, but we can expect it in India by October.
Chipset: Confusion or Upgrade?
Now this chipset game is making some mind spin. Rumors are saying that Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 can come in it. Note 14 Pro+ also had 7s Gen 3, so are they bringing the same chip with a little tuning? Or is it a new 7s Gen 4? A listing (model number 2510ERA8BC) was spotted on Geekbench that mentions the 7s Gen 4 – single-core score 1228 and multi-core 3230. This is slightly better than the previous model, but not as powerful as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
The confusion is why is Redmi bringing such a good phone with the same or slightly upgraded chip? Maybe to keep the cost down, or is there some other game plan. Let’s see what happens when the full specs are revealed.
What to expect?

According to the teasers, the Note 15 Pro+ is going to get some solid things:
- Camera: 50MP main camera (with OIS) and 50MP telephoto lens. There is a triple camera setup, which will do wonders in portraits and zoom shots.
- Display: 1.5K resolution quad-curved OLED display – premium look and feel.
- Battery: 7000mAh battery and 90W fast charging. A phone of this size is rare with such a big battery.
- Durability: IP68/69K rating and Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass – this phone is durable.
- Satellite Connectivity: This will be the first phone of Redmi that will support Beidou satellite messaging in China.
There is also something new in the design – symmetrical micro-curved body, which will feel comfortable in the hand. A large circular camera module was seen in the official images, which is slightly similar to the Note 14 Pro+, but with a refined look.
What is the problem?
Now this chipset related confusion is a bit of a concern. If the same old chip is used or a slightly tweaked one is used, then people might get a bit disappointed. Plus, there is also a pricing scenario – Note 14 Pro+ was launched at ₹30,999, so it could be a bit costlier than that, maybe up to ₹35,990. Only after the full specs and price are revealed, it will be clear whether this is a value for money or not.
Final Thoughts
Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is being launched in China on 21 August, and it is going to have a big battery, great camera, and durable build. But the chipset related confusion is a bit of a concern. Will this be a real game-changer or just an iterative update? We will know on the day of launch! Let me know in the comments, what do you expect from this phone, and will you wait for it?
