Redmi has officially confirmed that the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro will come with an IP69K rating and a large 9000mAh battery. The company shared these details through official teaser material ahead of the phone’s launch in China on July 14.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is being positioned as a more durable and long-lasting device compared to previous models in the series. The high water and dust resistance rating, combined with the large battery and extended warranty, suggests that Redmi is focusing on build quality and longevity this time.

IP69K Rating and Build Quality

One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Note 17 Pro is its IP69K certification. This is one of the highest levels of water and dust resistance available on smartphones. According to Xiaomi, the device has also received IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings.

In addition to water resistance, the phone has passed strict drop tests. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and has received dual five-star drop resistance certification from SGS and CQC. Xiaomi claims the chassis can withstand drops from up to 3 meters onto marble surfaces.

These certifications make the Redmi Note 17 Pro significantly more durable than most mid-range phones currently available.

9000mAh Battery with Long-Term Warranty

The Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature a 9000mAh battery, which is quite large for a smartphone in this segment. The device supports 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

What stands out more is the five-year battery warranty offered by Xiaomi. According to the company for the first four years, users will get a free battery replacement if the battery health drops below 80%. In the fifth year, users can get a free upgrade to a higher capacity battery if the health falls below 80%.

This kind of long-term battery support is rare in the smartphone industry and shows Xiaomi’s confidence in the battery’s durability. The battery has also received a TÜV SÜD multi-dimensional five-star rating.
