Tecno has launched a new phone – the Pova Curve 2 5G! This phone is as unique as its name suggests – a curved display, a massive battery, and a completely unique design. I’ve unboxed and tested it, and yes, this phone really feels different. So without wasting time let’s take a look at what this Tecno’s phone offers, what’s good, and what’s bad!
What’s the Box?
The phone looks very unique as soon as you open the box! A transparent case, Type-C cable, SIM pin, quick guide, and a 45W charger are also included in the box – awesome! The phone gives off a premium vibe as soon as you take it out, it feels absolutely lightweight and thin.
Design: Absolutely Amazing
The back of the phone looks like a spaceship – triangular camera module and transparent effect! The back is polycarbonate with a matte finish, giving a premium feel in the hand. The thickness is only 7.42mm and the weight is around 195g – despite having such a big battery, it is absolutely slim and light!
Colors available are Titanium, Silver, and Purple. The Purple one looks absolutely amazing. It has an IP64 rating, so it is safe from dust and splashes. Tecno has put in a lot of effort into the design – a complete departure from boring phones!
Display: Curved and Smooth!
The front features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Scrolling is buttery smooth, colors are vibrant, and with 4500 nits peak brightness, it looks clear even in sunlight.
There’s Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and the 93% screen-to-body ratio provides a fully immersive experience. Videos are fun to watch – there’s HDR support too! The waterdrop notch feels a bit dated, but the display is absolutely premium overall.
Camera: Decent Photos and Videos
The back features a 50MP main + 2MP depth camera. Normal photos come out sharp and with natural colors in daylight. Portrait mode has good edge detection, and AI features like depth mapping work great in portrait mode.
It performs decently in low-light, but lacks ultra-wide or telephoto capabilities. The selfie camera is 13MP and takes clear selfies. You can record 2K 30fps video from both the rear and front – the quality is solid. It’s good enough for casual photos and videos!
Performance: Great for daily use!
The MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip (5nm) is well-balanced for the price. Apps open quickly with 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. BGMI runs smoothly at 60fps – there is a little heat during heavy gaming, but there is no overheating.
AnTuTu score is 769,000+, and CPU throttling test is stable at 88%. Absolutely perfect for daily use, multitasking, and casual gaming! HiOS 16 (Android 16) is clean, and you will get 3 years of OS + 3 years of security updates.
Battery: Biggest Power!
8000mAh battery is the king feature of this phone! It lasts comfortably for 1.5-2 days even under heavy usage – do reels, videos, gaming, everything. 45W fast charging is included in the box, which charges quickly. Bypass charging is also available during gaming. Such a large battery in such a slim phone – it’s truly impressive!
Network and Extras: All Set!
5G support (20 bands), dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4. Call quality is excellent – background noise is cut out with AI noise removal. No NFC, but it’s not a problem in daily use. There’s a single speaker, and the sound is decent.
