Contact UPI app or bank: Contact your UPI app or bank customer care immediately and tell them about the situation. They can help you take the necessary steps to stop or withdraw transactions.

Enter a complaint on the NPCI website: If your UPI app or bank is not able to help you or the transaction has been successful, then you can file a complaint on the website of NPCI. This is a simple and free process.

To complain on NPCI Website you have to follow these simple steps:-

  • Go to NPCI website (https://www.npci.org.in/).
  • Go to the “Get in touch” section and choose the “UPI” option.
  • Click on the link “Dispute Redressal Mechanism”.
  • Click on the “Raise a Complaint” button.
  • Enter a complaint for “Person to Person” transaction.
  • Fill the required information, such as date, time, amount, UPI ID or mobile number, bank name, and transaction reference number (UTR).
  • Write and submit your complaint details.
  • You will receive a complaint number, which is noted for future reference.

After complaining NPCI will investigate your complaint and contact the concerned banks. If the transaction is not successful, the amount will be return to your account.

If the transaction is successful, the NPCI receiver will contact the bank and request to return the amount. On receiver’s cooperation, your money can be returned.
