Vivo X200 FE is here and everyone is going crazy over its camera! Yes, the camera is great but this phone has a lot more to offer. I tested it – from gaming to daily use – and some things felt next-level but there were a few that were a little lacking. Let’s see how is this compact flagship and is it worth your ₹40,000-50,000 budget!

What do you get in the box?

As soon as you open the box, you get premium vibes – sleek and classy packaging! Inside you find the phone, Type-C cable, SIM ejector pin, quick guide, and a transparent case. Charger? Yes, a 90W fast charger is in the box! There is also a pre-applied screen protector, which is a big deal at this price. Upon unboxing, it feels like this phone is a solid thing!

Design: Small but Premium

This phone is very compact – 6.31-inch display and just 186g weight! It fits perfectly in the hand, neither heavy nor bulky. There is matte glass at the back, along with an aluminium frame, which gives a premium feel like an iPhone. The buttons are clicky, and the flat display at the front looks very sleek. Gorilla Shield Glass at the back and Short Sensation Core at the front provide protection.

With an IP68/69 rating and military-grade certification, this phone is the most durable compact phone in the world – not afraid of water, dust, or falling! Colours are Black, Blue, and Silver – the Blue one looks like an absolute killer. Let me know in the comments which colour you like?

Camera: Portrait King, but a little lacking

The camera is the hero of this phone! There is a 50MP wide (main), 50MP periscope telephoto, and 8MP ultra-wide lens at the back. There is a 50MP selfie camera at the front as well. The main camera delivers extremely sharp photos during the day – vibrant colours, great HDR, and solid details. Zeiss filters (Classic Negative, Positive Film, Clear Blue) take photos to next-level.

Portrait mode is absolutely professional – edge detection, exposure, and sharpness on point! The 85mm and 100mm telephoto shots give absolutely DSLR-like output. There is also a real-time season change feature, which can give the photos a winter or summer vibe.

But the ultra-wide lens is a bit weak – lacks details and converts shadows into deep black, which is not useful in low-light. Video supports up to 4K@60fps, but stabilization is a bit of a problem – there is slight jitter in moving shots. The selfie camera gives a slightly warm tone, but details are great. Overall, the camera is great for this price, but the video stabilization and ultra-wide could have been improved.

Performance: Solid in Gaming and Daily Use

It has the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, which is also in the Vivo T4 Ultra. AnTuTu score is ~1.6M, performs well in Geekbench and 3D Mark as well. Yes, it is a bit behind when compared to Snapdragon 8 Elite, but there is no shortage in real-life usage. BGMI has smooth gameplay at 90fps – consistent 90fps initially, but fluctuates between 76-89fps after long gaming. The thermals are great with vapor chamber cooling – it heated up to just 43°C after gaming and cools down to 44°C during long sessions. 60fps remains consistent even during long gaming sessions.

The Funtouch OS 15 (Android 15) is absolutely buttery smooth in daily use. Apps open quickly with UFS 3.1 storage, but if it had UFS 4.0 it would have been future-proof. A 10.33GB 4K video was exported in 3 min 46 sec in VN Editor – powerful for editing as well. Animations are smooth, there is no lag or jitter. You will get 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.

Battery: Such a big battery in a compact phone?

The 6500mAh lithium-ion battery is the biggest surprise of this phone! Such a big battery in such a compact size – hats off Vivo! It lasts for 6 hours screen-on time in heavy gaming and 16 hours in light usage. Full charge in 30-40 minutes with 90W FlashCharge and reverse wireless charging is also there – you can charge TWS or other phones.

Display: Small but great

6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. With 5000 nits peak brightness, the display looks very clear even outdoors. HDR content on Netflix or YouTube looks amazing – deep blacks, vibrant colours, and great contrast. There is 260Hz PWM dimming, which is comfortable for the eyes at night.

Audio and Extras: Slightly lacking, slightly good

There are dual stereo speakers, but the loudness is a bit low. Bass is also a bit weak, mids and treble are decent. There is an IR Blaster, an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, dual nano-SIM support, USB-C 2.0 port, 20 5G bands, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC support.

Software: Smooth, but a little boring

Funtouch OS 15 (Android 15) is smooth, but the UI seems a little simple. It is a little behind competitors like One UI or OxygenOS. Funtouch OS 16 will bring features of OriginOS. There is some bloatware, but you can uninstall it. Customization options are great, and call recording without announcement is possible. AI features like photo enhancement and object detection are also there.

Pricing: Worth It?

The starting price of 6GB+128GB variant is ~₹45,000 (with offers), and 8GB+256GB is ~₹50,000. Getting compact size, premium design, killer camera, and solid battery life in this price is a great deal!

Conclusion

Vivo X200 FE is an excellent compact flagship – small size, big battery and killer camera! Premium design, solid performance and long-term updates are available for ₹45,000-50,000. If you want a small but powerful phone that can compete with iPhone in portraits, this phone is an excellent fit.

But it lacks a bit in ultra-wide and video stabilization. Check out the offers on Flipkart or Amazon and tell us in the comments – will you buy this phone or not and why?
