The Google Play Beta Program has distributed the version of the new WhatsApp update 2.25.8.3, its version number is 2.25.8.3. A new hint this latest update provides is of an upcoming addition to Spotify that will allow users to add music from the service to their status updates. While it remains in beta testers and is not yet available, WhatsApp says it will implement the feature as a more interactive and engaging way to share music with contacts.
Today in this article we will discuss the WhatsApp update 2.25.8.3 and what features come in this update.
Spotify Music – Status Updates
The latest update to WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.8.3 comes with the good news of the ability to share Spotify music in status updates. It is built on top of previously introduced status updates and third-party app integrations, which makes it easy for users to present their favorite tracks in a pretty manner.
How Will This Feature Work?
Here, when a user shares a song from Spotify, along with the option to share it with a contact or a group, they will also be offered the opportunity to share the same song as a WhatsApp status update. It would then be up to them if they want to choose this option and WhatsApp would create a preview of the shared track that will be shown in the status update.
The same way Instagram Stories allows users to share music from Spotify, this implementation is similar. But you can create a preview track on Instagram by sharing it, in which case, you’ll see a track-based preview on a wall that shows the Song title, artist name, album cover, and a button to send ones to Spotify. Like WhatsApp, the approach to music sharing on the app is the same and it is smooth and comfortable.
Enhanced User Engagement
By integrating with Spotify, WhatsApp makes the user experience more interactive as it allows it to share music shared from Spotify in status updates. Rather than blindly pasting a plain link, this will give users a rich graphic user interface with a ‘Play on Spotify’ button and the essential song details. It implies that viewers can go directly to the shared track without having to seek it down manually on Spotify, thereby making music discovery much more fun.
Also, the feature puts a premium on user privacy. WhatsApp status is end-to-end encrypted with only targets able to view the shared content. Specifically, the songs that users share in their status updates will not be accessible by WhatsApp or third parties for a secure and private sharing environment.
Future Availability
The feature is under development, and not yet to beta testers. However, it seems it will be included in a coming update with WhatsApp’s promise to improve status updates with third-party app integrations. When the feature becomes available, users will expect to see a more dynamic, fun way to share their favorite music with friends and family.
Since WhatsApp remains in its development stage wherein new and improved features are brought to enhance its user interaction. If we receive more information on the Spotify music sharing update when it becomes available we will update you. Whatsapp is developing soon and we’ll update you of the new updates.
