What’s new about the update ?
In this update WhatsApp is working on an event feature for community announcement groups and will be available after future update since it’s under development. In this they are making improvements for activities within group chats and preparing event feature for community announcement group. The name of the feature is Community Announcement Group Events.

WhatsApp made announcement that they are rolling out the event feature for group chats to everyone that will be useful in helping users on activities within the group chats.
In this update it makes needed and significant improvements in the way so that the users can manage and organise all activities in their group chats, by allowing the members to create and manage the events like the social gatherings and online meetings directly within the chat. It seems that WhatsApp is now engaged in further enhancing and updating this feature and expanding it to the community announcement group.

More about the uses and improvements
WhatsApp is seeing towards the implementation of the events feature even for community announcement groups. Till now with the current update events are limited to the community group chats and regular group chats only and hence making it unavailable for community announcement groups. But after this future update this feature will be extended to community announcement groups too and then admin can create and manage events within these groups.
But, as only admins can send messages in community announcement groups, the events messages will be displayed in a noticeable and prominent way so that it will not get lost with other message ensuring that all members are always aware of all the upcoming events.
This way it will be beneficial for specially large communities where the information needs to stand out and with this it will be ensured that the important information about the events is known by all the members who have joined and reducing chances of missing important and significant information about the present ongoing and future planned events.
Compatibility and status
The event feature for community announcement groups is under development and WhatsApp is working on it. It will be available in future update and for now it’s not ready for beta testers as the feature is still in its development.
